Olympic cycling champs Laura Trott and Jason Kenny have admitted they have both fallen head over wheels in love with each other.
And yesterday Laura decided to confirm their romance.
She tweeted: “So yes it’s out there me and Jason Kenny107 are dating.
"Been a little while now just didn’t want the distraction before the games x.” Signs the duo were close emerged when Trott tweeted: “Soo happy for Jason :) X” after his victory on August 6.
It was around the same time that she started her relationship with “Bolton Bullet” Kenny, 24, who won team sprint and sprint gold, taking his overall gold medal haul to three.
Hailed as a superstar of the future by Team GB cycle boss Dave Brailsford, 20-year-old Trott from Cheshunt, Herts, won team pursuit and omnium gold during the six-day 2012 track programme at the Olympic Velodrome.
Laura had been going out with fellow British cyclist Sam Harrison, 20, currently competing in Holland in an international under-23 event.
Their relationship ended amicably in June, and he sent her a good luck message before the Games.
A Team GB insider said: “It was not a case of them having a few beers and a drunken snog.
“They have been an item for a while but kept it under wraps before the Games.
“The relationship with Sam ended in June and she started seeing Jason the month after.
"He is young, free and single, and they hit it off as they have so much in common. “They have five Olympic gold medals, and they are both world champions.” Last night, the pair left the beach volleyball hand in hand, and Jason joked it was “very tricky” to talk about his new love when “copious amounts of alcohol have been taken”.
