For many women, the thought of sharing pictures, let alone moving images, of your most vulnerable, and arguably least dignified moment, is nothing short of horrifying.Many of us will secretly edit even the post-partum photographs we share with friends and family.‘It makes me feel great that so many people have watched it,’ says Gemma, who lives in Kent with her other son Freddie, three.
One bloke wanted me to film my feet and another got in touch with a friend who also posts videos online asking her to take a shower fully-clothed. If anything, I’m really pleased so many people have taken an interest in it.’Some are shot in the sterile surroundings of a hospital delivery suite.
Others are filmed at home, in birthing pools, even in gardens.
And while some are tastefully filmed, with no action ‘down below’, others leave nothing to the imagination. Since Gemma (pictured with Oliver) posted the video of Oliver's birth on You Tube it has had more than 16,000 views and there are an incredible 1.3 million videos of childbirth available to view online‘I’ve always been interested in pregnancy and birth,’ she says.
