The fair was founded to promote and support independent press.
Temple Bar Gallery + Studios has invited 30 of the most exciting publishers of art books from around the world to take part in the second edition of the Dublin Art Book Fair.
The Fair will feature Irish and internationally based art book publishers, including publishers from Germany, Norway, UK, USA, Canada, Korea and Luxembourg.
The fair presents a chance for art book lovers to find unusual ‘zines, catalogues and artist books that are not normally found in Ireland.
A special section of artists’ books will feature self-published texts, catalogues and projects including handmade books, alongside a programme of daily readings and talks by invited speakers and publishers.
Artwork by Clodagh Emoe and a modular seating system by artists Seoidín O'Sullivan and Karol O'Mahony (2012) will also be on show in the reading area of the fair.
List of confirmed publishers for 2012: Anteism (CA) Anteism is a Canadian arts publisher showcasing visual artists through unique visual art books, zines, monographs, prints & contemporary handmade editions.
Anteism’s roots were developed while curating collaborative art projects and exhibitions.
Since 2003 the focus has slowly grown towards arts publishing.
Our focus is primarily limited/short-run, handmade editions in the format of artist monograph, handmade artist books & zines.
The word “Anteism” alludes to the latin ANTE ( before) and ISM (art-ism).
We find this fitting as one day many of the artists we’ve worked with will surely be lumped into future ‘isms’, for now we hope to continue working with the undefined avant-garde and contemporary artists who are just beginning their careers and have yet to be ‘figured out’.
